I sketched in the Big Apple! New York

My trip in New York was held in September 2011. This trip was the first of our stays in the USA and I was very excited to set foot in the streets of this megalopolis! We've chosen to spend it with my in-laws because they did not plan a trip to an English speaking country (they do not speak a word of English).

For us it was a great joy to know that thanks to us they were able to achieve one of their dreams!

Beacon Hotel (2130 Broadway 75th StreetNYC

We stayed in a Manhattan hotelBeacon, on the Upper West SideThe hotel offers rooms with kitchenette and a lounge (with sofa bed). Ideal for family
The cost of living is low being 4. Besides, we could eat our meals directly in our room. There is a grocery store right across the street that has a range of fruits absolutely delicious!
Oh yeah, right next to the hotel there is the Beacon Theatrewhere many concerts are held throughout the year, you're on Broadway!

 What have we done?
  • We walked through Central Park (followed by a picnic) ...
  • We visited the Museum of Natural History ...
  • We strolled in Times Square by day and night ...
  • We climbed in the crown of the Statue of Liberty (354 steps!) ...
  • We made a stop at Ellis Island ...
  • We admired the view at the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center) ...
  • We saw a show at Radio City Music Hall (Zarkana) www.broadway.com ...
  • We admired the legendary Flatiron Building ...
  • We explored the neighborhood of Wall Street ...
  • We climbed the Brooklyn Bridge ...
  • We took a breath of fresh air in Meatpacking District ...
  • We mounted the steps of the Court House (legendary in U.S. movies) ...
  • We discovered the history of the neighborhoods of Manhattan from the Empire State Building ...
  • We had lunch at Central Station ...
  • We saw where the construction of Ground Zero ...
  • We walked through Chinatown and Little Italy ...
  • We made a night Cruise on the Hudson River ...

To do all these attractions (mostly paid), we opted for the CityPass.
For $89: Empire State, MOMA Museum, Museum of Natural History, The Metropolitan Museum of ArtCircle Line Cruise OR Statue of Liberty (without crown) and Ellis Island, Top of the Rock OR Guggenheim Museum. If you want to see fewer things that is not interesting for you, but know that attacked the unity of these attractions are worth $163 ...

Cookies at Levain Bakery are awesome, they have 3 stores in New York, and one near our hotel! www.levainbakery.com

The View  Marriott Marquis 1535 BroadwayNYC

You will have a 360 degree view of New York, very impressive, but be careful when you go to take your plat, the floor moves! The quality of the dishes (buffet) is not sensational, you actually pay for the view! Two people have at least $ 80 (without wine). www.theviewnyc.com
