Everglades - Florida USA

The wildlife of the Everglades

The Everglades are shaped by water and fire, experiencing frequent flooding in the wet season and drought in the dry season. We went to The Everglades for 1 day (from the morning to the middle of the afternoon - it's enough).

First, I had heard about the AirBoat attraction, some people said that it is THE thing to do, but I was a little bit septic ... I was right!

We entered in the park near Everglades City (on the West Coast)
So we decided to go there to see the city and the attractions offered. There was a choice!

All of them proposed  an airboat ride (near 1h) for $40/p. They said it was not obvious to see alligators, but that wildlife was superb. I do not like when people play "sales people" too much to sell an attraction that involves animals.

So we had decided to create our own attraction!

Throughout the park, there are Visitors Center, where you can have a drink or a snack and talk to someone, who is here to advise you to visit the park.

Maps in hand, we discovered the park in the wild! Driving (we rent an Alamo's car in Miami) on marked trails, we were able to see alligators (for free)! But beware, NO SUDDEN MOVEMENTS! hihihi We had saw also snakes, OMG I hate these reptiles, they move too fast!
It is imperative to buy a repellent against mosquitoes!
